Two ranked fights are already confirmed for the UFC card scheduled on the same night as Ronda Rousey’s return to mixed martial arts.
Netflix steps into the MMA scene on 16 May, with a card topped by Rousey’s comeback against Gina Carano and Francis Ngannou’s first fight since 2024.

The spotlight will be firmly on that event at Inglewood’s Intuit Dome, but there will also be a UFC card taking place at the smaller Apex venue. And for those planning to tune into that instead of the Netflix bout, it was recently revealed who will be headlining.
Arnold Allen to face Melquizael Costa in UFC Vegas 117 main event

While ‘Rowdy’ and Ngannou will be grabbing headlines on a bigger stage, UFC Vegas 117 is also set to take place that same night.
The card has not been fully revealed yet, but the headliner has now been made official.
As reported by Ag. Fight, featherweight Arnold Allen (20-4) will headline the event against fast-rising contender Melquizael Costa (27-7).

Allen will be under pressure to defend his top-10 ranking, having picked up just one win in his last four outings. His most recent fight was a loss to Jean Silva at UFC 324, which was also his first appearance after nearly two years away from the sport.
Costa has taken a different path and seems like he is on the rise. After dropping two of his first three fights with the promotion, Costa has since won six straight. That streak includes becoming the first man to finish Dan Ige at UFC Houston earlier this year.
This match-up marks the second confirmed bout for UFC Vegas 117 on May 16. The other features Ketlen Vieira taking on Jacqueline Cavalcanti in what could have major implications for both fighters’ careers.
