Caleb Wilson will still be working for a coach he played for this coming fall, just in different colors and with a promotion.
Wilson, a former walk-on tight end at USC who finished his career at UCLA playing for Jim Mora Jr., has accepted an offer to be the wide receivers coach at Colorado State after serving as an assistant wide receivers coach the last two seasons under Jedd Fisch with the Washington Huskies.

The son of longtime defensive assistant coach Chris Wilson, who has worked at both the college and pro level, Caleb finished his college career with 114 catches for 1,674 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns in 29 total games before he went on to be selected with the last pick in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL draft by the Arizona Cardinals.
Wilson spent three seasons in the National Football League with the Cardinals, Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, and Denver Broncos. He made five appearances for the Eagles in 2020 prior to trading in his shoulder pads for cleats and a whistle.
One of four offensive staff additions announced by Mora on Wednesday, Wilson finally has his own receiver room to coach after working under Fisch and wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings at UW in 2024-25, after working as an offensive line assistant at Purdue in 2023 under then-Boilermakers head coach Ryan Walters.

Wilson has been instrumental in the Huskies receiver operations, both on the field and as a recruiter during unofficial and official visits, building close-knit relationships with incoming four-star receiver Mason James and others, which showed he was worthy of a promotion sooner or later and has now come from his ex-coach.
Mora took the CSU job after spending four seasons at Connecticut, a surprise move to many in the college football landscape, including former Alabama coach Nick Saban, where he compiled a 27-23 overall record for the Huskies.
Wilson inherits a solid receiver room that consists of former Ohio State four-star Kojo Antwi, a former top 150 recruit from Suwanee, Georgia, and ex-Wake Forest standout RJ Vick, along with several other young receivers that may factor in the Rams’ rotation.
His departure marks the second UW assistant to leave for another job, joining former special teams assistant Greg Froelich, who left to become the special teams coordinator at Bowling Green. Fisch also saw offensive coordinator Jimmie Dougherty leave the program for other opportunities, while ex-NFL assistant Matt Cavanaugh has been hired as a senior offensive assistant.
