After a whirlwind offseason, which saw the Colorado Buffaloes bring in over 40 new transfers, the team finally appears to be turning its recruiting attention to 2027.
On Wednesday, the Buffs scheduled an official visit with a three-star defensive lineman, but Thursday will be a much bigger fish. Colorado’s staff is set to bring in 2027 four-star offensive lineman Jackson Roper for an unofficial visit, marking the first time the No. 1 player in Colorado makes the trip to Boulder.

As one of the top offensive line prospects, Roper has been on several visits already, including two to the Buffs’ rival, the Nebraska Cornhuskers. In addition to his trip to Lincoln and Boulder, he also visited USC this week.
Roper stands at a massive 6-foot-5, 205 pounds and has experience playing multiple positions up front, including left tackle. The young lineman from Cherry Creek High School excels at quickly reaching the second level and finishing blocks with strong hands. 247Sports projects Roper to be an interior offensive lineman, but with the athleticism to move around if needed.
Colorado, alongside 34 other schools, has already offered Roper a scholarship. So it appears it’ll be down to new offensive coordinator Brennan Marion and head coach Deion Sanders to sway the top prospect to stay home.

Other 2027 visits scheduled for March 13
Roper is not the only top recruit scheduled to visit Boulder on Friday. Fellow Coloradoan Jordan Mitchell, a wide receiver and cornerback from Cherokee Trail in Aurora, Colorado, is also set to be in town. Mitchell is currently unranked by 247Sports but holds offers from Syracuse and New Mexico.
Mitchell’s Cherokee Trail teammate, linebacker Nico Mavromat, is also taking a visit. Mavromat is another unranked prospect, but he is one of the top linebackers in the state.
According to On3, Chandler, Arizona, wide receiver Jaden Baldwin will be in attendance for Friday’s spring practice. The three-star recruit is the No. 634 player in the country, the No. 72 wide receiver and the No. 12 overall recruit from Arizona.
