Owensboro High School standout linebacker Ty Ashley committed to the Kentucky football program on Thursday.
Ashley is a 6-foot-3, 212-pound junior who had gotten a number of Power 4 and other college football offers, including Notre Dame, Louisville and Cincinnati.

Ashley said on an X post announcing his UK commitment: “Staying Home. 100% Committed! BBN Let’s Ride!!
Ashley is a two-time Messenger-Inquirer All-Area Defensive Player of the Year. Ashley was a key player for the Red Devils’ Class 5-A state championship team this season.
Ashley had three fumble recoveries during his junior season, including one for a touchdown.
Ashley finished Owensboro’s 13-2 season with 148 total tackles, including 10 tackles for loss. He will be a senior for OHS next season.
