If you haven’t seen the end of the Dayton-Saint Louis game, you’re in for a real treat.
First, Dayton got a three from Jacob Conner with about 15.5 seconds left to play. Then Saint Louis brought the ball down and ran a variation of the play that Villanova used to beat UNC in the 2017 championship game, with Robbie Avila as the trailer. He hit a three from past the top of the key with 6.6 seconds left on the clock.

Then Dayton came down and Jordan Derkack drove for a layup and, with less than a second on the clock, Amaël L’Etang tipped in Derkack’s miss.
It was really March distilled down to its essence.
It must have been especially sweet for Flyers coach Anthony Grant, whom the students apparently had had just about enough of earlier in the year. They were booing him and wearing “Fire Grant” T-shirts, and it got to the point where the university warned them that if it continued, they would lose their tickets for life.
Now, Dayton is 23-10 and heading to the A-10 Finals on Sunday, where they’ll face VCU.
