It’s Selection Sunday for the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament and Duke is poised for a No. 2 seed after winning a second consecutive ACC championship.
The NCAA released its 16 first- and second-round tournament host sites on Saturday, confirming that Duke will open in Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The No. 8 Blue Devils (24-8) are projected by ESPN Bracketology to land in the Fort Worth 3 bracket to host 15th-seeded Jacksonville in their opener. The winner of the Duke-Jacksonville game would be expected to play Oregon or Princeton, according to projections.
Other potential opponents for Duke in March Madness include Fort Worth 3 projected No. 1 seed Texas, No. 3 Ohio State and No. 4 Oklahoma.
The Final Four will be played in Phoenix on April 3-5.
Duke’s ACC Tournament title run paired with TCU’s loss in the Big 12 Tournament bumped the Blue Devils into the No. 2 seed with UConn, UCLA, Texas and South Carolina projected as No. 1s.

Duke also was a No. 2 seed last season and reached the Elite Eight where it fell to top-seeded South Carolina, 54-50, and finished the season ranked No. 7. It’s the Blue Devils’ fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance under coach Kara Lawson.
Duke is one of seven ACC teams projected to make the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament field, joining Clemson, UNC, NC State, Notre Dame, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
