Breaststroker Alicia Budacsek to Join UCLA’s Class of 2031
NEW COMMIT: UCLA has scored a new verbal commitment for Fall 2027 from Alicia Budacsek of Wilmette, Ill. Budacsek will head to the West Coast as a member of the Bruins’ Class of 2031.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am extremely excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic journey at UCLA! I am very grateful for my family’s endless love, support, and encouragement. I want to thank Coach Alessio and Coach Jeff for always helping me and pushing me to become the best version of myself. To my teammates, thank you for being the best team ever. I would not be where I am without you all. Finally, a special thank you to Coach Jordan, Coach Graham, and Coach Bex for believing in me and welcoming me into the Bruin family–I can hardly wait! GO BRUINS!!!”
A Junior National qualifier, Budacsek does her club swimming with NASA Wildcat Aquatics and is primarily a breaststroker. She finished 16th in the 200 breast at Juniors West back in December. Last summer, she took 14th in the 200m breast and 16th in both the 50m breast and 100m breast at Madison Futures before going on to earn silver in the 200m breast and bronze in the 100m breast at Illinois Long Course Seniors.
Her best times include:
- 50 breast – 29.42
- 100 breast – 1:02.95
- 200 breast – 2:15.71
UCLA finished seventh in the team standings at the 2026 Big Ten Championships. Budacsek’s best times would rank third in the 100 breast and 200 breast on the Bruins’ roster this year.
