Iowa State women’s basketball star Audi Crooks earned one All-American honor on March 16.

Another came rolling in the next day.

Crooks, a junior center for the Cyclones, was named a second team All-American by the US Basketball Writers Association on March 17.

The Algona native was a third team selection last season. Earlier in the week, she earned second team All-American honors by the Sporting News.

Now this accolade. It’s another richly deserved honor for Crooks, one of the best post players in the nation.

The 6-foot-3 center averaged a Big 12 Conference best 25.5 points per game while shooting nearly 65% from the floor. Crooks also averaged 7.8 rebounds this season.

She tallied 12 double-doubles this season and has reached double digits in scoring in 97 straight games, the longest active streak nationally.

Iowa State will play Syracuse in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on March 21 in Storrs, Conn.
