Assistant coach Ryan Anderson followed Sean Miller from Xavier to Texas when Miller left the Musketeers last March to become the Longhorns’ head coach.

With about one second remaining in the Longhorns’ NCAA Tournament First Four game against North Carolina State at University of Dayton Arena, Tramon Mark made a shot to give Texas a two-point lead.

Anderson ran onto the court to celebrate, and almost made it to the free-throw line as Wolfpack players signaled for a timeout. He was fortunate he wasn’t assessed a technical foul.

It was the latest of several instances in which team members have celebrated prematurely and almost cost their teams. The Dayton Flyers did it during the A-10 tournament against St. Louis.
