ASCA and NISCA Announce Strategic Partnership to Support and Elevate High School Swim Coaches

The American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) and the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA) have announced a new partnership designed to strengthen collaboration between the two organizations and provide greater support and professional development opportunities for high school swim coaches across the United States.

Guided by their shared mission to advance the profession of coaching and support the growth of the sport, ASCA and NISCA will work together to expand education, increase access to resources, and create more opportunities for high school coaches to connect and learn from one another.

As part of the agreement, ASCA will participate in the 2026 NISCA Conference in June, where featured speaker Bill Dorenkott—Head Swim Coach at Ohio State University and President of the Board for the American Swimming Coaches Association—will present to attendees. ASCA will also host an exhibit booth and have a brief speaking opportunity during the conference, helping introduce additional professional development opportunities and resources available to coaches. Registration and more information about the NISCA Conference are available at https://niscaonline.org/index.php/conference.

NISCA will promote ASCA resources and upcoming educational clinics that benefit high school coaches through communications with its national membership. The organizations will also collaborate on social media initiatives to highlight coaching education, promote conference and clinic participation, and encourage joint membership opportunities. More information on ASCA resources and ASCA-NISCA joint membership can be found at www.swimmingcoach.org.

In addition, ASCA will contribute ongoing coach educational content to NISCA publications, including quarterly features in the NISCA Journal and monthly content for the NISCA newsletter.

The collaboration will also include specialized educational programming such as the ASCA Stroke School led by renowned stroke technique expert Russell Mark prior to the 2026 NISCA Conference.

The partnership extends beyond the conference setting. NISCA will have a booth presence at ASCA’s Central States Swim Clinic, and the organizations will offer joint ASCA–NISCA membership options through their respective websites.

Leaders from both organizations believe the partnership will expand access to valuable professional development resources.

“The partnership between NISCA and ASCA reflects the power of collaboration to strengthen coaching education and advance the sport,” said Kyle Bedalov, President of the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association. “We’re grateful for ASCA’s leadership in helping revitalize the NISCA Conference and excited to work together to support coaches and student-athletes nationwide.”

“High school coaches play an incredibly important role in developing athletes and growing our sport,” said Jennifer LaMont, CEO of the American Swimming Coaches Association. “Partnering with the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association allows us to expand coaching education, strengthen connections across the coaching community, and better support coaches at every level.’
