Baraniewski (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) aims to continue his undefeated record, and his 100 percent first-round finishing streak at UFC London. The 27-year-old fighter from Poland has yet to see a second round in his professional career. After earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in September, he made his debut in December, finishing Ibo Aslan in 89 seconds.

After a 1-4 stretch over his last five at heavyweight, Lane (13-7 MMA, 1-4 UFC) has decided to drop to light heavyweight. The former NFL player won a unanimous decision against Robelis Despaigne, but was stopped by four other opponents. He looks for refresh at 205 pounds.

Despite having good fights like Nathaniel Wood vs. Losene Keita and Mason Jones vs. Axel Sola buried on the prelims, Mick Maynard and Sean Shelby saw fit to satiate the English crowd with a bout between Poland’s Iwo Baraniewski and the United States’ Austen Lane.

Lane, who somehow made 205 pounds for this fight, is a former NFL washout, which is one of the UFC’s favorite archetypes to get behind despite Brendan Schaub being the best to ever compete in that category. But I digress.
In Lane’s defense, he has looked to make improvements to his game – particularly if he can work to topside. That said, I’m not sure how much success he’ll have grappling someone like Baraniewski with any consistency.
