The No. 1 seed Gamecocks (32-3) and Dawn Staley beat No. 16 seed Southern 103-34 in the first of two games on March 21, then the No. 9 Trojans (18-13) beat No. 8 Clemson in overtime 71-67.
South Carolina is in the Sacramento 4 Regional, which means if it wins on March 23, it will try to win Sweet 16 and Elite Eight games in California to then advance to the Final Four in Phoenix.
South Carolina vs Southern Cal March Madness game time
It will be the second time this season the two teams play, a rematch of the Nov. 15 game when South Carolina won 69-52.
JuJu Watkins, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2024 from Los Angeles narrowed her choice to two Southern Cal and the Gamecocks but went with the school in her home city.

In her first two seasons, Watkins became one of the most dominant scorers in the nation, averaging 27.1 points as a freshman, then 23.9 as a sophomore. But coming up on exactly one year ago, Watkins tore her ACL in a second-round March Madness game.
She’s in Columbia with her team but won’t be playing.
Shortly before Watkins’ injury, the schools announced a bicoastal series with games in 2025 and 2026 called “The Real SC.”
The game in Los Angeles in November was the first of the two series and the second will take place on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2026, at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville.
