Recruiting Roundup: More Commitments On The Way For UW

by

Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Huskies have been on a roll lately on the recruiting front as of right now the class is ranked as the 6th best class according to 247sports (it’s super early but with 9 commits in the class they are doing very well early). With official visits starting up here in May and prospects expected to be on campus for spring practice here is a look at a couple of players who could commit sooner rather than later.

4 star defensive lineman Jon Ioane from Tustin HS, CA visited UW for their Junior day a few weeks ago and came away very impressed. Rated as one of the top defensive tackles out west and a top 200 player nationally by 247sports, Ioane has offers from all over the country but has narrowed his focus to a top 5 of Cal, Penn State, Stanford, UCLA, and UW. It’s expected that Ioane will announce his commitment this month and the Huskies are the heavy favorites to land him. Listed at 6’3” and around 295 Ioane has the size already to be an early contributor in college. When I watch his film I see a player who will likely be slotted to the interior as either a nose and 3T tackle and take on double teams. Getting Ioane would be a massive win for the Huskies and further help build up the talent level on the trenches.
