Kentucky is on track to land a top quarterback in the 2026 class

by

The Kentucky Wildcats football team made a big move in hiring former Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein for its vacant head coach position. With him came a breath of fresh air and excitement for the future of the program after a stagnant few years.

Stein immediately made an impact on the roster. He went into the transfer portal and added multiple highly rated players, and former top recruits who expect to make a difference right away. Among those players is quarterback Kenny Minchey, signed from Notre Dame, where he was a four star recruit.

Kentucky is also looking to add another elite recruit out of the 2027 recruiting class, and has been in contact from several, including Andre Adams.

Adams is a 6’2″, 180 lb passer from Tennessee who’s rated four stars by 247Sports, and is ranked as the No. 175 player overall in the class on the composite board. He’s a true dual-threat QB, the type of player Stein has had great success in developing.

According to Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong (subscription required), Kentucky is one of the favorites to land Adams, along with Virginia Tech.

Adams is who I believe the Wildcats currently have the most momentum with. The intel says it’s Kentucky and Virginia Tech at the top with Colorado and Florida State also in the mix.

Adams is set to announce his commitment on April 11th. He would be a terrific addition to the roster, and hopefully one of many elite recruits to come for Coach Stein and the new look Wildcats.
