Kansas men’s basketball HC Bill Self reportedly denies retirement rumors: ‘No news. Bad info.’

University of Kansas men’s basketball head coach Bill Self reportedly denied retirement rumors after the team’s 67-65 loss to St. John’s on Sunday, according to the Kansas City Star’s Gary Bedore.

“No news. All b.s. Bad info,” Self reportedly told the Kansas City Star in a text message.

While Self denied the rumors, he reportedly said that he had no timeframe to report for a decision and had no further comment on the matter.

Self, 63, has been the head coach of Kansas since 2003. He has faced speculation about a possible retirement after missing time due to health issues. Self is 634–167 overall and 299–91 in conference during his time at Kansas. He has also won two National Championships at Kansas, in 2008 and 2022.
