The NCAA Division II men’s basketball tournament regionals are complete, with eight teams moving on to the nationally seeded quarterfinals.

The No. 1 seed is no surprise. Nova Southeastern has lived up to its status as D2’s latest powerhouse this season, dropping just one game in mid-December and largely steamrolling everyone else in its path. The Sharks average 100 points per game and have topped out at 130 this season.

While the Sharks are favored to win their third national title in four years, they’ll have legitimate challengers. No. 2 seed Cal State East Bay is unbeaten and has one of the top defenses in D2, limiting opponents to 63 points per game. No. 3 seed Gannon and No. 4 Daemen are also in the midst of outstanding seasons.

The quarterfinals and semifinals will be played in Pittsburgh this year, while the championship game will be in Indianapolis in conjunction with the D1 Final Four.
