Chamique Holdsclaw and Tamika Catchings will join USA Network’s WNBA broadcast team for the 2026 season.
The Tennessee legends will team up with a crew that already includes Kate Scott as the lead play-by-play announcer. Holdsclaw will appear in studio coverage alongside Elle Duncan and Renee Montgomery. Catchings, who previously worked for ESPN’s SEC Network, will call games as an analyst with Scott and Meghan McPeak.

Holdsclaw played in the WNBA for 11 seasons and was a six-time All-Star, three-time all-WNBA player and a scoring champion. She won three consecutive titles with the Lady Vols from 1996-98. Holdscaw occasionally worked as an analyst on WNBA game broadcasts when she was a player and has remained connected to the league through mental health initiatives since. This is her first foray into extended television coverage.
“You’re excited when anyone wants to give you that type of platform,” Holdsclaw told The Athletic. “In my lifetime, I did not think I would see a moment when we would have women’s sports promoted at such a level, such excitement. … There’s this energy out there. To be a part of that is very, very special.”
Holdsclaw is a big fan of Breanna Stewart and A’ja Wilson, and has taken an interest in watching the Indiana Fever’s progression through the upcoming season while living in Indianapolis.
“Of course, I’m excited to see a healthy Caitlin Clark,” Holdsclaw said. “It was really interesting to see this emergence of Kelsey Mitchell, so I’m just trying to see how it all comes together for them.”

As far as her role in the studio, Holdsclaw wants to tap into her experience dealing with the ups and downs of being a professional athlete and the challenges she faced with her mental health during that time.
“I know what it’s like being in the locker rooms, being a player, trying to navigate this thing called life. That’s the part of it that I want to bring,” Holdsclaw said. “We gotta talk x’s and o’s, but being able to reflect on that and connect with the fans who love this game.”
This is the first year of USA Sports’ 11-year media rights deal with the WNBA. They will have weekly Wednesday night doubleheaders on USA Network, and will also air the first round of the playoffs, as well as up to five WNBA Finals games.
The league will have a 44-game schedule for the second straight season, followed by a three-round postseason. The first rounds will be best-of-three, the semifinals best-of-five and the finals best-of-seven.
