New Rutgers women’s basketball coach Gary Redus II has added two assistant coaches to his staff, as the program is set to hire Manisha Redus and Lauren Hansen as assistant coaches, according to The Knight Report.
Manisha, who is Gary’s sister, was an assistant coach at Florida Atlantic University for one season before being offered to join the Scarlet Knights coaching staff. The brother-sister duo has experience coaching with one another on the same staff, as they were both on the same coaching staff at DII West Georgia. Manisha also has a good amount of head coaching experience, being the head coach of Division II Palm Beach Atlantic for seven seasons, which could prove valuable to a first-time head coach like Redus.

Manisha Redus is a 2005 Alabama women’s basketball graduate who started every game at guard for her final two seasons with the Crimson Tide. She then started her coaching career by becoming an assistant coach at DII Montevallo before moving on to West Georgia. After three seasons at West Georgia, Redus moved on to Palm Beach Atlantic, where she led the team to their first winning record in 20 years and left as the winningest coach in school history despite having a losing record overall. She helped Florida Atlantic win its first game of the conference tournament during her one season there.
Hansen comes to Rutgers after spending the last two seasons as a professional women’s basketball player in Poland. During those two seasons, she appeared in six games and averaged 8 points per game. She was also a recruiting coordinator for NCSA College Recruiting in 2025.
Hansen spent her college career with Missouri and Michigan, playing her first three seasons with the Tigers and her last with the Wolverines. She averaged 10.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per game over her career.
