Clemson football’s 2026 Spring Game is set for today at 1 p.m., giving fans their first real look at the Tigers ahead of the upcoming season. Under head coach Dabo Swinney, this year’s spring showcase carries added intrigue as the program continues shaping its identity on both sides of the ball.
It also marks the return of offensive coordinator Chad Morris, bringing a familiar face back to Clemson for his first season in this new stint. His influence on the offense will be one of the biggest storylines, especially as the unit works to find rhythm and consistency in a live setting. On the other side, defensive coordinator Tom Allen enters his second year with the program, looking to build on the foundation set during his first season and push for more consistent execution.

After weeks of practice, roster movement, and development, today’s scrimmage offers a snapshot of where Clemson stands coming out of spring camp. While the result won’t matter, the performances will. Coaches will be evaluating every rep as they continue to sort out depth and define roles heading into the summer.
With kickoff set for early afternoon, it serves as an important checkpoint in Clemson’s offseason, and an early glimpse at what this team could become in 2026.
Here’s some of what we’re thinking heading into this spring game.
Will Christopher Vizzina show improvement?
Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik (2) consoles quarterback Christopher Vizzina (17) after the game at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, S.C. Saturday, October 18, 2025. SMU won 35-24.
In his Clemson career, the spring game has not shown ups and downs for Christopher Vizzina. The Tigers new starter under center has struggled mightily at times in this game, but turned it around last year in a big way going 7-8 for 81 yards and a touchdown last season.

A lot is riding on Vizzina taking the next step this season and it would be awesome to see some strong improvement today.
What is new offensive coordinator Chad Morris going to show?
Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney, left, introduces Chad Morris as football Offensive Coordinator for during a press conference in the Smart Family Media Center in Clemson, SC, Friday, Jan 23 2026.
A lot of eyes are going to be on Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris today. Clemson’s offense had a lot of talent last season and the results on the field were unacceptable. New year, new OC, new mindset. Morris should bring a lot of energy and discipline to this Clemson offense.
Will we get a better version of defensive coordinator Tom Allen?
Clemson defensive coordinator Tom Allen during Spring Practice in Clemson, S.C. Monday, March 24, 2025.
There was a lot of excitement for Clemson when they added Tom Allen as their defensive coordinator and his first year with the Tigers, brought mixed reviews. Expectations were high for Allen, who heads into the spring game with a year under his belt with the program and more of a stamp on what he wants the team and the defense still look like.

This Clemson defense should turn things around in 2026, and it starts here.
Who’s going to show they’re the player who’s going to step up?
Clemson linebacker Sammy Brown (47) exchanges greetings with fans during Clemson Tiger Walk, two hours before kickoff with Troy University, at Memorial Stadium in Clemson Saturday, August 31, 2025.
From a pure star power perspective, this Clemson team is not the strongest on paper. Clemson has been a different program after the last few seasons and they’re looking to bounce back and reclaim their spot at top of the ACC. It has to start with someone taking the next step into stardom.
There’s clearly talent on the roster such as star linebacker Sammy Brown wide receivers, Bryant Wesco, who is recovering from injury and TJ Moore. It’s about the next man up here. Does Clemson have the talent to make it back to the top? We’re going to have to see.

What are we going to see from the new talent?
Clemson added some serious talent on both sides of the ball. I’m excited to see what freshman QB Tait Reynolds brings to the table. He and that trio of wide receivers, Naeem Burroughs, Gordon Sellers and Connor Salmin.
