No. 6 seed Tennessee (25-11) defeated No. 2 seed Iowa State (29-8), 76-62, on Friday in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 at United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Nate Ament totaled 18 points, four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal for Tennessee. He converted 6-of-10 field goal attempts, 3-of-4 three-point attempts and 3-of-4 free throw attempts and was one of four Vols to score 10-plus points in the contest against the Cyclones.

Ja’Kobi Gillespie recorded 16 points, two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block for Tennessee, which outrebounded Iowa State, 43-22.
Felix Okpara had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and he was one of two Vols to record a double-double. He also had three blocks and one steal, while Jaylen Carey finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and one steal.
Tamin Lipsey and Nate Heise scored 18 points each to lead the Cyclones.
Tennessee will next play March 29 in the Elite Eight for a third consecutive season. The Vols will play No. 1 seed Michigan at 2:15 p.m. EDT.
