The Duke Blue Devils are prepping for their biggest game of the year on Sunday afternoon against the UCONN Huskies in the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament, and they happened to get some positive injury news a few hours before tip.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, star Duke guard Caleb Foster is expected to play once again for the Blue Devils, though in a relatively limited fashion coming off the bench. Foster played in Duke’s Sweet 16 win over St. John’s on Friday, scoring 11 points in the second half and helping to lead the Blue Devils to an 80-75 victory.

Foster has started 30 of the 31 games he has appeared in this season, but he hasn’t played since the regular-season finale against North Carolina on March 7 due to a foot fracture that required surgery.
“He’s riding the scooter, but won’t be riding the pine,” Thamel said on ESPN’s College GameDay. “He’s expected to play again for Duke. Remember, Friday was the first time that he had played 5-on-5 basketball since injuring that foot three weeks ago. Jon Scheyer told reporters in D.C. yesterday that nothing has changed with Foster, which means that Cayden Boozer is going to start for the Blue Devils, and Foster is again expected to be available off the bench.”
Foster is averaging 8.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.

This is the third straight year that Duke has earned a spot in the Elite 8, and with a win, they will make it back to the Final Four for the second straight season. Their game against UCONN tips off at 5:05 p.m. ET on CBS.
