Blue-chip, in-state running back to visit FSU on Monday

by

The Florida State Seminoles had an eventful few days as they hosted their Legacy Weekend, which is their premier recruiting event. They will still be visiting with prospects over the next few days, and 2028 four-star running back Xander Edwards announced on social media that he will be in Tallahassee on Monday.

“Excited to be back at Florida State University tomorrow!,” Edwards wrote.

His recruitment has picked up since the end of last year, when eventual national champion Indiana offered him in November. Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Wisconsin, and Florida have all offered Edwards since January.

Edwards played out of his mind as a sophomore in 2025. He rushed for an unbelievable 2,629 yards on 265 carries and scored 44 touchdowns (running for over 100 yards 13 times). Edwards also gained 211 receiving yards on 17 receptions. He would be named the All-News4JAX Offensive Player of the Year and finished as the runner-up to Florida’s Mr. Football award.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder is the No. 256 overall player and the No. 18 running back per the Rivals industry rankings. In the state of Florida, Edwards is the No. 30 prospect.

FSU is looking to add a commitment in the 2028 class after three-star wide receiver Lamar Garrison decommitted in February.
