Vic Schaefer has coached nearly 700 games in his incredible career, from Sam Houston State to Mississippi State to Texas. He’s got three Final Fours to his name including one with the Longhorns’ women’s team last year.
And if you’re here as you watch him coach Texas in the women’s NCAA tournament, you may be wondering: Who’s his wife?
That would be Holly Schaefer, whom he met and married in the 1990s. They have twins Blair (who played under him at Mississippi State and who is an assistant under him at Texas) and Logan, and they occasionally post photos of themselves on social media (see below).

He called her “The rock of our family, our point guard” and “the true MVP” in a sweet post on X (formerly Twitter) back in 2024. Coincidentally, she played hoops at Arkansas State.
