Fossil Ridge football star Caleb Camping commits to Big 12 power

A rising star from Fort Collins plans to play for a recent College Football Playoff participant.

Fossil Ridge High School tight end Caleb Camping has verbally committed to Arizona State of the Big 12. The commitment was first reported by Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports on March 30 and reposted by Camping.

Camping is a 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end who saw his recruiting profile surge over the last year. He has more than 20 total FBS and FCS offers.

The offer list includes several Power 4 programs including Kansas, Kansas State, Cal and Minnesota. Camping also holds an offer from CSU and several other Pac-12 programs.

Camping, who will be a senior at Fossil Ridge in the fall, is ranked as a three-star recruit by 247Sports and the No. 10 player in Colorado’s Class of 2027. On3 Sports also ranks him as a three-star recruit and as the No. 8 player in the state in his class.

Camping had 40 catches for 391 yards and two touchdowns as a junior in 2025 in his first full season as a varsity starter. He’s also played some defense for the SaberCats. He can also punt, averaging nearly 40 yards per kick with a long of 56 last fall.

Camping also plays basketball for Fossil Ridge and averaged 2.2 points and 1.7 rebounds per game as the SaberCats won a conference title in 2025-26.

Arizona State went 8-5 in 2025. In 2024 the Sun Devils won the Big 12 and made the College Football Playoff.
