Speaking in comments reported by Hartford Courant, Arunan Arulampalam made his feelings clear.
“It’s incredibly disappointing. We just had an incredibly exciting day of basketball with the men’s and women’s Huskies making it to the Final Four, and this is the basketball capital of the world, I still believe that,” Arulampalam said.
The mayor pointed to Connecticut’s deep basketball culture, emphasizing how the timing of the move contrasts with recent success on the court.
