Beware! UFC Vegas 115’s Ethyn Ewing is now training full-time after massive upset win

by

“The Professor Finesser” is all-in.

Rising Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight prospect Ethyn Ewing returns to action this weekend (Sat., April 4, 2026), taking on Brazil’s Rafael Estevam on the main card of UFC Vegas 115 inside the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ewing made a statement in his debut, pulling off a massive upset by derailing the hype train of knockout artist Malcolm Wellmaker. He stepped in on just two days’ notice and earned a unanimous decision victory inside Madison Square Garden.

Impressive? Sure.

But what made it even crazier was what he was juggling outside the cage.

“You guys saw what I did working eight hours a day, waking up at 4 a.m., leaving by 5 a.m., working all day, sitting in traffic coming back from Los Angeles, then training all night until 10 p.m. just to see my wife,” Ewing said during UFC Vegas 115 media day.

That grind is now a thing of the past.

The 28-year-old revealed he hasn’t returned to construction work regularly since the win — and is now fully committed to fighting.

“I haven’t been back to my main place of work,” Ewing said. “I had a baby boy on December 14, right after the fight, so I went on leave… my boss and I are cool — they’re all on my team — but I’ve been training full-time. Just imagine what you’re going to see now, training three times a day with nothing but fighting and family.”

Ewing added that he still has income through his own personal safety company, giving him the freedom to focus entirely on his career inside the Octagon.

And that’s a big deal.

For most regional fighters — and even some UFC athletes — the ultimate goal is to ditch the 9-to-5 grind and dedicate themselves fully to training. Ewing has now reached that point, and if his debut was any indication, that could be bad news for the rest of the division.
