Reds’ Nick Lodolo exits rehab start with blister issue

by

Cincinnati Reds left-hander Nick Lodolo had his rehab start cut short Thursday due to another blister issue.

Lodolo, who opened the season on the injured list due to a blister on his left index finger, made a rehab start for Single-A Daytona in a Florida State League game but exited after 40 pitches due to a blister on the same finger.

Lodolo had thrown 2⅔ hitless innings, striking out four, before exiting. He had been expected to throw 60 to 65 pitches.

Lodolo was 9-8 with a 3.33 ERA and 156 strikeouts last season.
