Recruiting Rankings
Class of 2026: Consensus 3-star, No. 94-ranked safety, per 247sports
Christian Askew originally committed to James Madison but flipped his commitment to the Nittany Lions following the combination of coaching changes at James Madison (Bob Chesney was hired away by UCLA) and Penn State.
Career Stats
As a junior in high school, Askew tallied 48 tackles, 15 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown.
Depth Chart Overview
Much like fellow newcomer Bryson Williams, it might be tough for Askew to get on the field very much during his freshman season as a non-blue-chip prospect. If he does get significant snaps, though, it would likely be because of his prototype size at the safety position.
