OKTAGON has announced a superfight between two former UFC fighters who hold titles for the promotion.
Bantamweight champion Igor Severino will put his title on the line vs. flyweight champion Zhalgas Zhumagulov at OKTAGON 89 on June 6, the promotion announced Monday.

Brazil’s Serverino (10-1) unceremoniously exited the UFC in March 2024 after he bit opponent Andre Lima leading to a disqualification and his promotional release. Since then, Severino has gone 2-0 with a split decision win over Jonas Magard and a second-round, title-winning TKO vs. Khurshed Kakhorov.
Kazakhstan’s Zhumagulov (19-9) is also undefeated since his UFC release. Zhumagulov went 1-6 across seven UFC appearances, but often proved to be a tough out for any opponent. He’s 5-0 across Naiza FC and OKTAGON since his departure. Most recently he defeated UFC alum David Dvorak by doctor stoppage.
The current OKTAGON 89 lineup includes:
-
Champion Igor Severino vs. Zhalgas Zhumagulov – for bantamweight title
-
Karol Rysavy vs. Daniel Schordje
-
Martin Buday vs. Lazar Todoev
-
Marek Bartl vs. Jozef Wittner
-
Ayton De Paepe vs. Marco Novak
