After committing to Florida A&M in the offseason, Anquan Boldin Jr. is hitting the transfer portal. With one year of eligibility left, Boldin looks to choose a destination to end his college career with professional aspirations a possibility. Boldin is the son of former NFL standout Anquan Boldin Sr.

In May 2025, Anquan Boldin Jr. revealed his commitment on Instagram, posting photos from a shoot in his new Florida A&M Rattlers men’s basketball uniform. The IMG Academy product drew interest from several Division I programs, including Mississippi State Bulldogs men’s basketball, Texas A&M Aggies men’s basketball, and San Diego State Aztecs men’s basketball, before choosing Florida A&M. Prior to transferring, Boldin Jr. averaged 7.5 points and 3.3 rebounds across 53 games with the Buffalo Bulls men’s basketball.
During the 2025–26 season at Florida A&M, Boldin Jr. appeared in 22 games and made five starts, averaging 5.8 points while logging about 18 minutes per game. Now, Ward looks to retool his team after a better than expected first season. After finishing the season 15-16 with an impressive SWAC Tournament run, Ward looks to stay committed to the mission that he articulated when he took the job with the Rattlers in 2025.
“This is the only job, collegiate job, I was willing to take,” Ward said. “Many of you may know me as a Seminole, but I was born a Rattler. The opportunity to join FAMU, in this capacity, was a welcome one.”
He added, “This next chapter as a collegiate coach is not a stepping stone. Rather, it solidifies our commitment to Tallahassee.”
