Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a last-ball thriller in IPL 2026 at Eden Gardens on Thursday, and a few performances impacted the Orange Cap race even as the one for Purple Cap remained firm. With 15 matches of the season done, here’s a look at the best performers so far.
With 170 and 160 runs, respectively, Rajasthan Royals (RR)’ Yashasvi Jaiswal and Delhi Capitals (DC)’ Sameer Rizvi continue occupying the top two spots among the highest run-getters so far this season. But KKR’s youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi moved up to No. 3 after his knock of 45 against LSG. Raghuvanshi has now scored 155 runs in four innings, averages 51.66, and has a strike rate of 158.16.
While Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Heinrich Klaasen kept the No. 4 spot, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane entered the top five. Rahane hit 41 off 24 balls against LSG, and that took him to 124 runs in four innings. He averages 41.33, and has a strike rate of 155.
Six other batters have so far tallied more than a hundred runs, including Punjab Kings’ 22-year-old allrounder Cooper Connolly. He has scored 108 runs in two innings, and has been dismissed once, while going at a strike rate of 163.63.
Ravi Bishnoi, also from RR, leads the race for most wickets. He has seven wickets in three matches at an average of 11.71 and an economy rate of 9.11. Following him are two Gujarat Titans bowlers. Prasidh Krishna is second with six wickets at 20.66, while Rashid Khan, who took 3 for 17 against DC two nights back, is third. Rashid has five wickets at an average of 17, as he looks to make up for an under-par season last time.
Apart from Rashid, seven other bowlers are on five wickets. That includes LSG’s Prince Yadav and KKR’s Vaibhav Arora. While Prince struck once on Thursday, Arora bagged 2 for 38.
