The Philadelphia 76ers travel to Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday to face the Indiana Pacers, with both teams entering the matchup dealing with multiple injuries. Philadelphia holds a 43-37 record and sits eighth in the Eastern Conference standings, while Indiana is 19-61 and already eliminated from playoff contention.
Friday’s game tips off at 7:00 PM ET in Indianapolis. The 76ers lead the season series 2-0 after wins of 115-105 on December 12 and 113-104 on January 19.
Philadelphia’s injury report is highlighted by the continued absence of Joel Embiid, who is recovering from an appendectomy. Embiid has played only 38 games this season but still averages 26.9 points and 7.7 rebounds, leaving a significant scoring and interior presence missing from the lineup.
Tyrese Maxey is listed as available despite a right finger tendon strain that requires him to wear a splint. The All-Star guard has carried the offense for long stretches this season, averaging 28.3 points and 6.7 assists while logging 38.2 minutes per game.
The 76ers are also without Cameron Payne due to a right hamstring strain and Johni Broome, who remains out while recovering from knee surgery.
Edgecombe has played a major role during Embiid’s absence, averaging 16.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists across 73 starts. Philadelphia has also relied on veterans like Paul George, who contributes 17.4 points per game, and Kelly Oubre Jr., who averages 14.1 points in 48 appearances.
Indiana enters the game with one of the longest injury lists in the league. The Pacers will be without Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, Andrew Nembhard, Aaron Nesmith, T.J. McConnell, Johnny Furphy and Ivica Zubac.
Siakam’s left ankle sprain sidelines the club’s leading scorer at 24.0 points per game. Nembhard, who averages 16.9 points and 7.7 assists, is also unavailable due to thoracic and lumbar injury management.
Additional uncertainty surrounds Kobe Brown, Ben Sheppard and Jarace Walker, who are all listed as questionable. Those potential absences further complicate Indiana’s rotation as the season nears its conclusion.
Despite the injuries, the Pacers are coming off a 123-94 home victory over the Brooklyn Nets on April 9. That result followed a 124-104 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves earlier in the week.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, arrives on a three-game losing streak after road defeats against the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs. With the Eastern Conference standings tightly packed around the play-in range, the 76ers remain focused on maintaining their postseason position.
