It appears that the Indiana Fever have secured one of their top free-agency priorities this season, as Kelsey Mitchell has reportedly agreed to a one-year supermax contract to remain with the franchise for the 2026 WNBA campaign.
Mitchell’s agreement comes after Indiana extended a core qualifying offer, giving her an automatic one-year supermax contract in exchange for exclusive negotiating rights.

According to ESPN’s Chiney Ogwumike’s report, Mitchell’s deal will be worth approximately $1.4 million, making her the Fever’s first player to break the $1 million threshold.
While both sides are in agreement, the deal cannot become official until the WNBA’s free agency signing period opens on April 11.
Mitchell was the primary offensive engine during the Fever’s 2025 season, especially after Caitlin Clark was limited to 13 games because of various soft-tissue injuries. Mitchell averaged 20.2 points and 3.4 assists per game. As a result of her sensational play, she made the All-WNBA first team for the first time in her career and was an MVP finalist.

With Clark fully recovered from her ailments, the Fever hope its star trio of Clark, Mitchell and Aliyah Boston can power the franchise to championship glory this season.
