The former title challenger was on a roll after his return to action, stopping Dustin Jacoby, Anthony Smith and Nikita Krylov. However, Carlos Ulberg, who competes in the main even for the vacant title, put a halt to Reyes’ momentum.

Walker (22-9 MMA, 8-6 UFC) returned to the win column in August by scoring a Performance of the Night bonus for stopping Zhang Mingyang. That result ended a three-appearance winless streak, which included a no contest and a loss to Magomed Ankalaev, plus a setback against Volkan Oezdemir.

In a card chalked full of volatile fights, this one might just take the proverbial cake.
Not only are Reyes and Walker capable of finishing their opponents in the blink of an eye, but both men are also liable to spontaneously combust at any moment.

I’d love to lean into my Eric Nicksick and Xtreme Couture bias by taking a flyer on Walker as an underdog, but the Brazilian has traditionally fared poorly against southpaws, officially standing 2-4-1 opposite UFC-level lefties.
I’ll be very happy if Walker can pull off another upset, but I’ll steer away from my biases and reluctantly pick Reyes to find a knockout in Round 1.
