Iowa women’s basketball is on the board during transfer portal season, landing a major commitment from former Georgia guard Dani Carnegie.
The former Bulldog was a first-team All-SEC selection last season as Carnegie averaged 17.8 points per game on 42.7% field goal shooting, 35.4% from 3-point range, and 83.3% from the free-throw line. During her freshman season at Georgia Tech, Carnegie played alongside current Iowa guard Chit-Chat Wright and for now-Iowa assistant coach LaSondra Barrett.

Carnegie was the ACC Sixth Player of the Year that season with the Yellow Jackets and an All-ACC Freshman Team choice. The 5-foot-9 guard averaged 12.9 points per game during her freshman season with Georgia Tech.
Landing Carnegie is a major transfer portal win for Jan Jensen and her staff. Carnegie adds a player to the Hawkeyes’ backcourt that can create off the dribble and is a true three-level scorer.
Here’s a look at some of Carnegie’s highlights:
Carnegie joins Chit-Chat Wright, Taylor Stremlow and Journey Houston in Iowa’s backcourt. The Hawkeyes are also reportedly set to host former Oklahoma State guard Amari Whiting and former Western Illinois guard Raegan McCowan on transfer portal visits.
