Devin Royal has officially committed to Villanova.
After much speculation, the Ohio State transfer lands with the Wildcats. Royal visited the campus on Monday and the news broke shortly later on at night via Joe Tipton of On3.
Royal is now the second transfer that head coach Kevin Willard has landed, joining Oregon big man Kwame Evans Jr.

Royal spent three years in Columbus, playing in a total of 96 games. He played 11.2 minutes per game as a freshman before becoming a starter in year two. Royal made 59 starts over the last two years. He averaged 13.7 points in each year.
While not the best shooter from three-point range, Royal took a step forward this season at 31.6%. He also shot 80.2% from the free throw line. Royal leaves Ohio State after shooting 50.1% from the field in three years.
The 6-foot-6 forward gives Villanova another big body who can rebound the basketball. He averaged 6.9 rebounds as a sophomore and 5.7 last season. He can score inside the arc and in the lane as well. The addition of Royal gives Willard many options within the rotation.
