Zion Williamson said Monday that he wants to remain with the New Orleans Pelicans moving forward.

Shortly afterward, executive VP of basketball operations Joe Dumars echoed that sentiment, indicating the team has no intention of parting ways with him.

“We have no intentions of doing that,” Dumars said when asked about trading Williamson this summer.

“We are going into the offseason looking forward to Zion coming back next year and playing great again next year.”

Williamson played only 30 games in the 2024/25 season because of hamstring and groin injuries.

He was much healthier in 2025/26, appearing in 62 games and averaging 21 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in about 30 minutes per game.

Still, in his seven NBA seasons, this is only the third time he’s managed to play in at least half of New Orleans’ games.
