Kamboj level with Prasidh at the top of IPL 2026 Purple Cap table

So far, each day at IPL 2026 had brought with it drastic changes on the Orange and Purple Cap tables. It wasn’t quite so after Tuesday night’s game between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), but there was one significant mover. Here’s a look.

Anshul Kamboj hasn’t gone a match without a wicket so far. In fact, only once in five games has he failed to take at least two wickets. So, when the CSK medium pacer returned 2 for 32 against KKR, he moved up to ten wickets for the season, joint at the top of the table with Prasidh Krishna of Gujarat Titans (GT), though Krishna has a better economy rate than Kamboj, and has kept the cap.

Ravi Bishnoi of Rajasthan Royals (RR) is at No. 3 with nine wickets, followed by team-mate Jofra Archer with seven, and then three bowlers with six against their names: Prince Yadav of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Jacob Duffy of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and KKR’s Vaibhav Arora, who picked up one wicket against CSK.

The top of the run-scorers’ table is unchanged, with Heinrich Klaasen (224 runs) and Ishan Kishan (213) of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) still at one and two. RR’s Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is at No. 3 with 200 runs. Those are the only batters to have reached or crossed the 200 mark so far.

Below them at No. 4 is RCB’s Rajat Patidar with 195 runs, and a new No. 5, Sanju Samson – the CSK batter is moving up fast after a poor start to the season. Samson started with scores of 6, 7 and 9, but has since scored 115 not out – the only century this season so far – and 48.
