The Indiana Fever guard spoke frankly this week on her podcast, “Show Me Something,” about the free agency process that led her back to Indianapolis. Some fans interpreted Cunningham’s comments as disappointment over the $665,000 salary that she was offered, but on Tuesday, she cleared the air at Fever training camp.

Cunningham explained that she was hoping to ink a multi-year contract with the Fever as she sought to “establish” herself long-term in Indiana. But unfortunately for her, Indiana’s reality under the WNBA’s new salary cap limited the Fever’s flexibility.
