Rising sophomore Francis Folefac has committed to the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball program. The 6-foot-7, 245 pound Folefac played forward at Siena this past season. He follows head coach Gerry McNamara from Siena along with teammates Gavin Doty and Tasman Goodrick.
He’s set to join his former Team Melo AAU teammate Kiyan Anthony at Syracuse. Folefac announced the news Monday afternoon on social media.
In his opening press conference at Syracuse, McNamara touched on how he’d turn to Folefac in late clock situations at Siena.

“I had Folefac and [Riley] Mulvey where I had two different guys that I could kind of work through late,” McNamara said. “Folefac — whether it be he could bully a guy and get to 12-feet and create a three-on-two or two-on-one. Or if it’s single coverage go on his own.”
Folefac joins a frontcourt at Syracuse of Sadiq White, Abraman Siby, Luke Wilson and Goorick. Syracuse has two scholarships left to utilize for 2026-27, should the staff so choose.
Folefac and assistant Arinze Onuaku share a hometown of Lanham, MD. Folefac is the youngest of seven siblings with six older sisters. He majored in Kinesiology at Siena.
Folefac started 26 of 35 games at Siena. He averaged 11.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.2 blocks and 0.9 steals per game with shooting splits of 51.5%/37.5%/74.0%.
