Herbie Behm, Stefanie Williams Moreno Added to CSCAA Board

Arizona State head coach Herbie Behm and Georgia’s Stefanie Williams Moreno have been added to the board of directors of the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.

Northwestern’s Rachel Stratton-Mills will take over as president. Behm will serve as the president-elect, and Louisville’s Arthur Albiero transitions to the past president role. Mandy DiSalle has completed her tenure as past president. (DiSalle retired from her role as the head coach at Cincinnati in March.)

Williams Moreno has been hired to replace Jeanne Fleck of Fresno State, whose in May will reach her term limit for board services. Fleck played a role in leading the CSCAA Mentoring Program.

Behm has been at the helm of Arizona State since 2024, taking over for NCAA championship coach Bob Bowman. He was an assistant and sprint specialist for the Sun Devils, using innovative methods and data-driven approaches to improve his swimmers.

“Herbie brings tremendous energy, creativity, and bold thinking to the Board,” CSCAA Executive Director Samantha Barany said in a press release. “He will challenge us to consider new ideas and opportunities while also honoring the traditions and values that make our sport so meaningful.”

Williams Moreno likewise followed a legend in her former coach, Jack Bauerle, at the helm of the Bulldogs’ women’s team in 2022.

“Stefanie is a longtime respected coach whose poise, thoughtfulness, and steady leadership will be a tremendous asset to our Board,” Barany said. “She brings a measured and collaborative approach that will make a positive impact as we continue to support our coaches and shape the future of our sport.”

“We are grateful to Jeanne and Mandy for their dedication to the CSCAA Board and to our sport,” Barany added. “We are also excited to welcome Stefanie and Herbie to the Board and to continue working with Rachel and Arthur as they step into their new roles. Together, this group reflects the depth, experience, and energy of our membership and will help guide the CSCAA forward.”

Princeton’s Matt Crispino was reelected as secretary, and Matthew Barany of Richmond was reelected as Treasurer. Terms will begin on May 4.
