Angel Reese made her Atlanta Dream debut on Wednesday in their first preseason game. Fittingly, it was against her former team, the Chicago Sky.
Reese spent the first two seasons of her career with the Sky after they drafted her seventh overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft. During her time in Chicago, the 6-foot-3 forward established herself as one of the league’s top young players.

Reese led the WNBA in rebounding for two straight seasons. This resulted in two consecutive All-Star Game appearances for the former LSU Tigers standout.
Reese marked the end of her time in Chicago during the offseason. This is after the Sky traded her to the Dream in exchange for two future first-round draft picks.

Reese also established herself as a fan favorite during her time with the Sky. This is exactly why the supporters at Wintrust Arena were still cheering for her on Wednesday despite being on the opposing team.

Reese made sure to acknowledge their support after the game. She signed autographs for some lucky fans as she exited the playing court.
The WNBA posted a video of Reese’s interaction with the supporters. The league also reacted to what she did after the game.
“All love for Angel Reese in Chi-Town ❤️” the WNBA posted on X.
Reese helped lead her new team to an 87-78 victory on Wednesday. She logged 13 minutes in her first Dream game, finishing with eight points, seven rebounds, two assists, three steals and zero turnovers.

Reese struggled with her shot, though. She went 2-of-7 overall and missed her lone attempt from beyond the arc. The 23-year-old also shot 4-of-8 from the charity stripe.
Reese and Co. return to action on Sunday in another preseason matchup. Reese will make her home debut when the Dream host the Washington Mystics at The Gateway Center Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET.
