Caitlin Clark, Lexie Hull and the rest of the Indiana Fever are in the middle of their preparations for the 2026 WNBA season. While the players are focused on contending once again after reaching the WNBA semifinals last year, the team gave them quite a surprise on Wednesday.
During the Fever’s practice, country music star Blake Shelton paid them a visit. The players were naturally in a celebratory mood, with Sophie Cunningham unable to hold herself back as she proceeded to hug the musician.

Clark, for her part, shouted in delight. Meanwhile, head coach Stephanie White and Hull both took photos with Shelton.
It didn’t stop there for Hull, though. On her Instagram story, the WNBA veteran fully fangirled over Shelton. She shared her photo with the singer and emphasized that she’s a “big fan.”
Hull also declared that Shelton is the “newest Indiana Fever addition.”

Why Did Blake Shelton Visit the Fever?
By the looks of it, Shelton is making his mark on Indiana and getting himself ingrained in the community. Sure enough, there’s no better way to do it than building a relationship with the most popular sports team in the city.

As the Fever revealed, Shelton’s visit came after he announced that his country-themed restaurant Ole Red is expanding to Indiana, with a target opening in late 2027.
“Indianapolis, y’all itchin’ to have a little fun? Blake Shelton is bringing his honky-tonk to the heartland. Say howdy to Ole Red Indy—opening in late 2027,” Ole Red announced in a post on social media.
It’s worth noting that Shelton’s restaurant will be located just a few blocks away from Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the home of the Fever and the NBA’s Indiana Pacers.
Once the restaurant is up, it looks like Hull, Cunningham and the rest of the Fever will be frequent customers.
