Alex Pereira is in town for UFC 328 this weekend, and as a fight week guest, he completed a side quest with one of the most historic baseball franchises.
On Tuesday evening, Pereira tossed out the ceremonial first pitch for the Texas Rangers vs. New York Yankees game at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y. “Poatan” rocked the famous pinstripe jersey with No. 1 on the back, along with a blue Yankees fitted cap. Oh, and a giant gold chain around his neck.

While it was clear Pereira won’t be getting a call to step on the mound on short notice, his right-handed toss did reach the plate on the fly and was caught by the catcher, avoiding potential first-pitch disasters we’ve seen over the years.
We’ll get to see Pereira do what he does best at UFC Freedom 250 on June 14 when he attempts to make history as a three-division champion against Ciryl Gane, but for now, check out videos and photos of Pereira’s pitching experience below:
