The transfer portal might represent slim pickings here in early May, but Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs landed one of the best remaining players available.
Former Arizona State center Massamba Diop‘s transfer to Gonzaga has been finalized. The 7-foot-1 big man is a massive get for the Bulldogs, and should immediately make their interior defense formidable.

Diop averaged over two blocks per game last year to go along with nearly six rebounds and 14 points per contest. The rising sophomore also shot nearly 57 percent from the field last season.
Reports indicate that the Bulldogs had to fend off St. John’s as the main suitors for Diop.
Although they have different styles of play, Diop’s addition helps absorb the loss of Graham Ike down low, who has exhausted his eligibility.
