Four-star LB commits to Alabama over Georgia football

The Georgia Bulldogs lost out on a four-star linebacker to a major SEC foe. Four-star LB Kenneth Simon II committed to Alabama on May 11, according to Hayes Fawcett. Simon II chose Alabama over Georgia, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.

Simon II is a four-star prospect from the class of 2027. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound linebacker prospect plays high school football for Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee. He is the No. 133 prospect and No. 7 linebacker in the nation.

Alabama and Georgia have similar classes so far. The Crimson Tide’s class of 2027 is ranked No. 35 in the nation, but they have a few blue chips, such as five-star quarterback Elijah Haven, headlining the class. Alabama won Haven’s commitment over Georgia.

Despite having Haven and now Simon II, Alabama has just six recruits in their class. Georgia is in the same boat. The Bulldogs have the No. 31 recruiting class in the nation, with guys like five-star running back Kemon Spell and five-star tight end Jaxon Dollar preventing them from being at the bottom of the SEC recruiting class rankings.

Georgia also has just six commitments. They lost two blue-chip corners in May, with five-star Donte Wright flipping to Miami and four-star Jerry Outhouse flipping to UCLA. History says the Bulldogs usually get the bulk of their class through June and July, but it’s been a slow start for two blue bloods of the SEC.
