The Sun will try to take down the defending WNBA champions when they meet the Aces at Mohegan Sun Arena on Wednesday.

After losing to the Liberty and Storm over the weekend, the Sun are still searching for their first win of the 2026 season. Connecticut‘s frontcourt depth will be tested in this matchup, as Brittney Griner (left foot) and Aaliyah Edwards (left thigh) are not available to play against reigning WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson.

The Aces have won their last eight games against the Sun. Can Connecticut finally snap that streak?

End of first quarter: Aces 28, Sun 19

8:32 p.m. ET: Rivers didn’t hit a three, but Carter with the foul, and Rivers hit all three shots at the line. She almost hit a buzzer-beater shot to end the first. Connecticut with a 5-0 run to end the first, but they are down 28-19.

8:27 p.m. ET: Chennedy Carter checked in for the Aces but got fouled right away. Burke with the bucket and one. Las Vegas used size to their advantage. Sun coach Rachid Meziane called a timeout after the Aces went on a run to make is 22-11. The Sun missed several shots close to the net and the Aces took advantage to make it an 13-0 run in over a minute of action. Connecticut finally scored.

8:17 p.m. ET: Wilson scored her first points of the game after missing her previous three shots. Aces had five points off turnovers so far. Hailey Van Lith and Aneesah Morrow entered the game and Morrow immediately missed a three. Olivia Nelson-Ododa had two fouls already, so Raegan Beers entered the game. She already got two fouls on her and the crowd was booing.

8:13 p.m. ET: A’ja Wilson had her first foul early in the game. Shock clock violation against the Sun. Burke with a rejection and Diamond Miller was able to shoot free throws following a foul. Charlisse Leger-Walker scored her first bucket of the game to tie it 6-6.

8:10 p.m. ET: It’s tip-off time! Sun basketball to start things off. NaLyssa Smith deflected a pass and the Aces took advantage via a Stephanie Talbot two. Las Vegas was on the board first. Kennedy Burke with an inside bucket, but then Jackie Young scored right after.

8 p.m. ET: It’s time to play some basketball!

7:55 p.m. ET: The starting five for the Aces: A’ja Wilson, NaLyssa Smith, Stephanie Talbot, Jackie Young, and Chelsea Gray.
