Clark and the Fever bounced back from a season-opening defeat at the hands of the Dallas Wings by taking down the Los Angeles Sparks 87-78 on Wednesday night. Leading the way for Indiana in the win was All-Star guard Kelsey Mitchell, who had 23 points on nine-of-17 shooting in the victory, to go with one steal.
Clark, meanwhile, played the role of distributor in the win, scoring 24 points while shooting an identical nine-of-17 from the floor, though she hit just one of her seven three-point attempts on the evening. The third-year guard has hit just three of her first 16 three-point attempts this season. Even so, Clark had nine assists in the win, as well as four rebounds and two steals.
The Mystics, on the other hand, are coming off a 98-93 overtime loss to the New York Liberty. Kiki Iriafen led Washington in the defeat, putting up 20 points, seven rebounds, and three assists on the evening. Center Shakira Austin also had an impressive outing, scoring 16 points while securing 10 rebounds and dishing out four assists.
