Fever Coach Stephanie White Accused Of Snubbing Caitlin Clark

by

Despite a heroic effort from Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever suffered a 104-102 loss to the Washington Mystics in overtime Friday night.

Clark finished Friday’s game with 32 points, eight assists and four rebounds. Although the former No. 1 pick has struggled from the 3-point line this season, she regained her confidence by going 7-for-17 from beyond the arc.

“I felt like I could have made another, like, five,” Clark said. “They’re all right there, and obviously it was great to break through and get some to go down. That’s the hardest thing as a basketball player, when you’re not making shots, to really stay in it. So I’m certainly proud of myself — really, really battled. And a lot of those shots are very, very makeable.”

During Friday night’s postgame press conference, Fever coach Stephanie White was asked about Clark leading the Fever with 17 points in the fourth quarter. However, she wasn’t interested in hyping up just one player.

White told reporters, “I thought our whole group showed resilience, in that rally we showed the ability to make tough shots.”

Fever fans accuse Stephanie White of snubbing Caitlin.

Judging by the responses on social media, Fever fans didn’t appreciate this response from White.

“She tryna answer like Greg Popovich but coaches like Doc Rivers,” one fan said.

“Yep this shows why SW is not the coach for CC. She doesn’t want her to shine,” a second fan argued.
