The Auburn Tigers are adjusting well in terms of recruiting under new head coach Alex Golesh, previously at USF.
The Auburn Tigers have a new head coach in Alex Golesh. And you would think he would have a tough time adjusting to recruiting in the SEC compared to what he did in the American League at USF. However, he’s done fairly well.

In their 2027 recruiting class, the Tigers are currently 25th. Now, there is still a long way to go until the class is final, but that’s good, all things considered. Their 2026 class ranked 42nd. And again, these rankings don’t always tell the whole story, and they’re not actually what the teams care about. However, it’s a good way for us as media and fans to rate what the team is doing.
Right now, the 2027 class is loaded with talent, but not all of them are ranked highly. They have three four-stars; however, running back Myson Johnson-Cook could end up a five-star by the time he gets on campus. The rest are filled with three-star players who could turn out to be sneaky-good football players. This week, they landed one who could turn out to be a huge recruiting steal in the 2027 class.

Tigers land 2027 linebacker and three-star recruit, Kareem Palmer
Palmer is a 6’2 linebacker from Georgia. He chose Auburn over Georgia Tech, Florida, Tennessee, and Alabama. So, this is a big win in that aspect. From the little tape we do have of Palmer, you can see he plays the ball extremely well. He has great pursuit speed and is really good at taking the correct angles in the run game. The IQ is there, too. You will see a few plays on the tape that he saw coming before they even developed.

Honestly, just from watching the tape that we have, I can’t see why he is only a three-star. The only negative I would have is that he has a small frame. But, he’s only in high school. Get him in the SEC, and he could fix that. And, if he doesn’t, you can always make him a hybrid type of player. I think this was a huge win for Auburn.
